NAIL ART: Pink Raceway

Photobucket

This is one of my favorite designs. I tried to keep this for as long as possible because I got so many compliments on it =]
I used wet and wild #242 for the pink, and I used a thin acrylic brush with black and white acrylic paint for the middle finger

Nail Art - Minnie Mouse is in the House

Photobucket

I wish i'd taken more interest in my artistic side earlier in life. I'd probably have some COOL job right now. Something cool like a photographer who produces videos for local artists. Maybe a graphic designer for local small business'.

Soooo, since I don't do any of that (aside from a little photography and writing here and there....) I choose to direct my capabilities into things like nail art. And hair =]

*Did you know acrylic paint can be used as nail polish? The color variety is much more diverse then regular nail polish, AND most importantly each bottle costs a buck and lasts FOREVER.*

This design was inspired by minnie mouse (yes, i'm always this profound)I have gotten so many compliments on it. I mean, let's be real here, it's downright adorable.

That is all.
More hair talk tomorrow perhaps ♥

Hair Talk - Volume I

So! I'm really excited to share with everyone the tips and products I've tried over the past few years that have really helped me get my hair into excellent condition. I haven't reached my final goal yet, but I am well on my way. I'm looking forward to documenting all of my success, with the goal in mind that it will help all of you too =]

I'm attaching a picture of how I'm wearing my hair these days. It has really helped me this summer with the muggy HOT weather in NY this year. I've had it in for a month now, so its a little frizzy, but frizz just can't be helped with this type of hair!

I plan to post a growth comparison picture within the next few posts and also I plan to regularly posts pictures so you can see my methods do work in real life!

My hair is completely natural, however, I have learned, while growing my relaxer out, that the goals you have in maintaining your hair are the same whether you're relaxed or natural. These goals being:

* Keep hair elastic (internally moisturized) and
* Keep hair's cuticle layers as flat as possible(More on this in a later post)

Hair grows, the objective is to keep your ends from getting frazzled, which is difficult, especially for those of us with particularly frizzy hair.....

So I'm looking forward to blogging everyday! Look out for Volume 2 and beyond! I also plan to share nail art ideas, hair styles, and just about anything you can think of to upgrade your girly side =]
